How Photo Filters treats your photos (browser filters keep them on your device; AI filters upload them to make your image) and the data the site needs to run.

Last updated: 2026-10-30

Photo Filters (photo-filters.com) is a set of photo filters. This policy explains what information the site touches, what it is used for, which outside services are involved and how long anything is kept. "We", "us" and "our" refer to the people who run photo-filters.com.

The short version

  • The browser filters (marked "In your browser") work entirely on your device. The photo you open is never sent to us or to anyone else.
  • The AI filters (marked "AI") are different: when you press Generate, your photo is uploaded to our storage and sent to an AI model to create your image. We keep it only as long as the service needs it and delete it when you ask.
  • We don't sell personal information, show ads based on it or use your photos to train AI models.
  • You can't create an account here, so we never ask for your name or email.

Your photos

Browser filters. When you open a photo in a browser filter, your browser reads it, applies the effect and lets you download the result. All of this happens on your device. The photo, the settings you choose and the result never leave it, and closing the tab discards them.

Blur Face. To find faces, the Blur Face tool downloads a face detection model the first time you use it. The model comes from photo-filters.com itself, not from a third party, and it runs in your browser. Downloading it sends nothing about your photo.

AI filters. Choosing a photo on an AI filter page only shows it in your browser. When you press Generate, your browser shrinks the photo (to at most 2048 pixels on the long side, saved as a JPEG) and uploads it to our storage on Cloudflare R2, under a long, random file name that isn't listed anywhere. We then send a link to that file, together with the instructions for the filter and options you picked, to AI Hub, the gateway we use for AI models. AI Hub passes them to the model provider (Kie.ai), which fetches your photo, creates the new image and hosts it at a temporary link so the page can show it and you can download it.

For each image we record which filter and options you used, the link to your uploaded photo and the link to the result, so we can deliver the result, refund failed attempts and look into problems. Your photos are not used to train AI models by us, and we don't use them for anything other than making the image you asked for.

What you choose to tell us

Emails to us. If you write to us, we keep the exchange so we can answer and follow up.

What the site records on its own

  • Request logs. Our host processes your IP address, browser type and the pages you request in order to serve the site and fend off attacks, as every website does.
  • Free AI image allowance. To give each visitor one free AI image, we store a salted, one-way hash of your IP address, an identifier your browser works out from its own settings, and how many free images have been used. Your actual IP address is not stored.
  • Visit counts. We measure traffic with Plausible Analytics. It sets no cookies and stores nothing that identifies you; we only see totals such as page views, countries and the sites that sent visitors.

Cookies and local storage

We don't use cookies to track you. The site sets one small cookie that remembers the site language. If you switch between light and dark mode, your browser's local storage remembers that choice, and when you open an AI filter page it also keeps the device identifier used for the free allowance. Clearing your site data removes them.

Outside services

A few services help us run the site. Each one gets only what its job needs:

  • Cloudflare — hosts the site and stores the photos you upload to an AI filter (in Cloudflare R2); like any web host it sees your IP address when you connect.
  • AI Hub (hub.quickplay.best) — our AI gateway: receives the link to your uploaded photo and the instructions for the filter and options you picked, and passes them to the model provider.
  • Kie.ai — runs the AI image model that makes your result, fetching your photo to do so, and keeps the result for a limited time so you can download it.
  • Plausible Analytics — counts visits without cookies and without knowing who you are.

Beyond that, we share information only when the law requires it or when it is needed to prevent fraud or keep people safe.

How long we keep things

  • Photos in the browser filters: never reach us, so there is nothing to keep or delete.
  • Photos uploaded to an AI filter: kept in our storage only as long as the service needs them. Email us and we will delete yours.
  • AI results: hosted by the model provider at a temporary link for a limited time, then deleted. Download any image you want to keep; once the link expires we can't restore it.
  • Generation records and the free-allowance count: kept while the site runs, so the free allowance stays fair; they hold no raw IP address.
  • Request logs: kept by our host for a short time for security, then discarded.

Your rights

Email us and we will tell you what we hold about you, give you a copy, fix it or delete it, within 30 days. Depending on where you live, for example the EU, the UK or California, you may have further rights, including complaining to your data protection authority.

Age limit

Photo Filters is for people aged 18 and over, and nobody may upload a photo of someone younger to an AI filter. If we find out we have such a photo, we delete it.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS. Because the browser filters never upload your photo, there is no copy of it on our side that could leak. Photos uploaded to an AI filter are checked to be real images before they are stored, and each one sits at a long, random address that isn't listed anywhere. Anyone who has that address, or the link to your result, can open the file, so don't share those links with people you don't want to see them.

Where data is processed

Our host, AI Hub and the model provider run servers in several countries, so your data, including photos uploaded to an AI filter, may be processed outside the country you live in.

Updates to this policy

When we change this policy, the date at the top changes too. If a change affects how your photos are handled, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
